    Babusar Pass

    Babusar Pass

Babusar Pass is at a distance of 80 km from Naran. It is on the way to the pass that the Kaghan valley's scenery becomes most dramatic. Battakundi is at a distance of 16 km from Naran and provides access to Lalazar Plateau, lake Dodiputsar and

lake Lulusar which is the biggest natural lake in Hazara and the source of Kunhar river. From Babusar Top mighty Nanga Parbat (8126 m) can be seen on a clear day. It is located at an altitude of 4146 m (14,000 ft). From here, the whole panorama lies spread out before the visitor. On a clear day the great Nanga Parbat (26,660 ft) can also be seen from here.

The Kaghan Valley is blocked at the end by high mountains but a pass lets the jeep-able road snake over into the Chilas Valley. This is the 4,173 metres high Babusar Pass. Babusar pass is the end of the Kaghan valley which commands the whole Kaghan panorama. The total distance of Babusar Pass is 161 km from Balakot and 75 km from Naran. A minaret here points to the highest point of the pass as 13,690 ft.

Babusar pass is the gate between Kaghan and Gilgit valley. From here you can have the glimpse of the naked mountain Naga Parbat with a towering height of 26,660 feet. and the distant snow-clad mountains of Kashmir. Road at Babusar Pass is remained closed, because of snowbound, from October to June, also restricted during monsoon season.

    How to reach here

From Naran you can hire a whole jeep for Babusar top and lalusar Lake in 6000 PKR to 7000PKR. You cannot find any hotels here it’s a one day journey and then back to Naran. I see some tents on Babusar top which is available for night stay but mostly people go back to Naran.

    Food

You can find some mini hotels in the beginning of journey where you can eat. But there is not many you should take some eatables from Naran or eat food in begging of journey.
