    Endangered species: Villagers catch snow leopard alive

    GILGIT (AwesomePakistan.Net): Local community in a remote hamlet of Hunza Valley were enlightened enough not to harm the endangered snow leopard that had killed a number of their cattle heads and caught the magnificent beast alive, wild life officials said.

    According to a statement of the Misgar Wildlife Conservation and Development Organisation, the local communities are aware of the extinction threat faced by the snow leopard, and have assured of not harming this precious animal.

    GILGIT (AwesomePakistan.Net): A snow leopard has been released by residents of Gilgit-Baltistan’s Gojal valley after prolonged negotiations with wildlife authorities. Villagers captured the female snow leopard in the Misgar area of Gojal valley four days back after it killed dozens of livestock over the past two months.

    KARACHI (AwesomePakistan.net): If you are walking on or passing by the streets in Faran Housing Society in Karachi’s Bahadurabad area, you may find yourself stopping to stare at the two seven-and-a-half-feet tall ostriches and two furious rams that reside in the area. These unique pets belong to Aleem Paracha, who stands casually petting the necks of his two ostriches outside his house.

    Paracha is fond of animals and has more than 30 animals living at his house, with the ostriches, rams and peacocks kept outside the house in an enclosure

    Illegal ibex hunt: Police arrest two suspects in G-B

    GILGIT (AwesomePakistan.Net): The Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) police have arrested two locals for illegally shooting an ibex.

    The incident took place in the Gulmit area of Hunza Valley, around 120 kilometres from Gilgit, the capital of G-B.

    Suspects Amin Khan and Riaz Karim – both residents of Hunza Valley – shot the ibex on Saturday, a member of a conservation committee told The Express


    Cycling race: Wapda wins Tour de Galiyat

    ABBOTTABAD (AwesomePakistan.Net): Dozens of cyclists pedalled into Nathiagali on Sunday as the last leg of a three-day Tour de Galiyat came to an end.

    WAPDA emerged as the winner in the race which saw participation from cyclists hailing from neighbouring Afghanistan also.

    Spirit of adventure: Nadir Magsi clinches Cholistan desert challenge

    BAHAWALPUR (AwesomePakistan.Net) : In a thrilling, neck-and-neck competition, Nadir Magsi won the Cholistan Jeep Rally 2017 followed by Ronnie Patel. The competition was held at the historic Derawar Fort on Sunday. Official results were not declared till filing of this story.

    Nadir, the favourite to win the rally, did not disappoint his home crowd and covered the distance of 253 kilometres in 2 hours, 26 minutes, while Ronnie Patel clinched the second position by completing the race in 2 hours, 30 minutes.


    Army clinches National, Chairman JCSC ski championships

    ISLAMABAD (AwesomePakistan.Net) – Pakistan Army emerged victorious in National Ski Championship 2017 as well as Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) Ski Championship on Friday at PAF Ski Resort Naltar, Gilgit-Baltistan.

    According to information received here, Pakistan Army’s Abdul Jan got gold medal in giant slalom category of National Ski Championship.
