    Miraculous Mosque

    The Masjid Chqchan means the Miraculous mosque in Khaplu, Baltistan built by Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani or by Shah Syed Muhammad Nurbakhsh Qahistani Sufi in 1370(A.D) is one of the oldest mosque in Baltistan and Pakistan. It is one of Baltistan's most famous landmarks

    Ghanche History

    Ghanche District (Balti: Gangchay) is the easternmost district of Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan. To its northeast is Xinjiang (China), to the north and northwest is Skardu District, to its west is Astore District and to its south is Ladakh of Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir.


    Yugo (Yugu) is a small village with a population of more than 6,000 people in the Ghanche district of Baltistan, an autonomous region that is considered part of the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region. The village is located above the Shyok River 75 km from Baltistan's capital Skardu


    Ghawari (sometimes called Ghowari, Gowari, Oaree, Wali, and Gwali or Tibetan, Va-le) is derived from two Balti words gawa means "open" and ri means "village," so it is basically a big valley. It is a small agricultural town and oasis situated in Ghanche District,


    Hushe is the last village of the Ghangche District of northern Pakistan. It is the highest village in the once extremely remote and impoverished valley. Hushe men began working as cooks and porters for expeditions in the 1960s. Reinhold Messner's cook Rozi Ali, is from Hushe.


    Balghar is a village in Ghanche, [Gigit Baltistan]], Pakistan on the bank of the Shyok River. Some sources said that the name Balghar was derived from Bulgar which is a big ethnic group in Bulgaria, Georgia and Ukraine. The Shyok meets the Indus river at Keris about 30 kilometers

    Kondus Valley

    Kondus Valley is a village of Ghanche, Pakistan. It shares boundaries with China on northern side and India on the eastern side. It is 150 km from Skardu and 50 km from Khaplu with its population of approximately 5,500 people. It is located 9,500 feet above sea level.

    Surmo Valley

    Surmo Valley is a valley in Ghangche District, in Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan. Etymologically, the name is derived from sermo : ser meaning gold and mo is a suffix used to feminise the word. Surmo is located approximately 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) from the district

    Gulshan-e-Kabir is a village in Ghanche district Baltistan approximately 40 km from Khaplu town. The old name of Gulshan-e-Kabir is Pharawa but the still older name is Ralta Khonbu. Ralta Khonbu was known for its beautiful and lush green fields and meadows.


    Thagas is a village in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan located 32 km away from Khaplu in east. It is the administrative capital of Mashabrum subdivision of Ghanche District.Thagas is the village of famous Sufi Mir Arif (Early Muslim preacher of Kashmir and Baltistan)
